Wednesday

meeting up with Latvian Ambassador day.

A Latvian flag from an Ambassadors very
own table now part of my table for awhile.
just now finished my Gmail clean up, and while going through most of old e-mails, its amazing what you can find there. Many great reminders of many parts of my life. but conclusion that i came up, is that I am one lucky girl or a little bit persistence is my friend. And i do believe than things happen with some reason, and best things happen when you least expect it.

Besides an very busy and challenging day at C:F office...

amazing things happened with me today.
My random second meeting with Ambassador of Latvia in Slovenia. as there is international dinner event on the way, and as we, Latvian students are going to represent Latvia there, i wrote an e-mail yesterday to embassy, just asking around if they would like to land us latvian flag and maybe share some PR materials. instead of just replying with what they have and could give us or not, I was invited to come over and have a chat with ambassador. e-mail was sent yesterday, meeting was today. And now try to tell me,that small governmental institutions are bad. I find them the most appealing for citizens, because you have easy to get contact with the higher range employees, and who would not like to meet ambassador?

How did the meeting go? well, it was confusing in beginning, as I was running late for meeting, and did not wanted to bother them much, and i had no talks prepared, besides introducing on what i am working on in Slovenia. but well, somehow the ice broke, and we discussed very different topics, politics, youth, students, education, and even topics about drinks and drinking. and instead of just coming over for like 10 min, i spent there more than 40, it was great. I liked it.

Did i got what i was looking for. even more, as you remember, then I needed to ask about support from them. As the LV embassy consists only from 2 people, then you can imagine, there is nothing much on PR materials besides many brochures, but those students neither read neither like. Although got an awesome ones, finally explaining from where does the Latvian language comes from. i also did got a latvian flag, the very one from his table, he just like that landed it, i was also offered the chance of the big one, but being afraid to loose it and damage it, had to refuse. And yes, did i already told, that I am a lucky girl. Perfect timing or coincidence, but a bottle of Black Balsam and Riga`s Champaign will be also there for presentation.

the warm welcome and the friendly and open personalities thats how looks Latvian Embassy in Slovenia. It is a great feeling to know them. And I am proud of the work they are doing by not only representing LV in "elite" events, but also engaging with latvians living in Slovenia.
