Sunday

sunday at bohinj and bled

Me @Bohinj lake. Incredible.

another random travel... this time went to see the biggest lake in Slovenia and returned to Bled to eat the tasty cream cake and see the castle.

thanks to two awesome italian guys day before arranged to join them for a trip to the bohinj, as till today had not been there. so sunday was early wake up, well, a bit overslept, but managed to be almost on time for the meeting.

as from ljubljana everything is close, then it took us less than an hour and we already were at Bled...well, as Bohinj was our first destination, then we went directly there, not missing time to meet and see the biggest lake in Slovenia. Wow...it is a big one. it took us around 1.5h just to walk maybe one third of the round of the lake. and yes, definitively its an alpine lake, as the weather outside was less than zero and we could meet some snow. Advice for myself - better check where are you going, otherwise the inadequate clothing can be an problem. as there are no bad weather conditions, just the way you dress.
few parts from our trip.

so yes...as you can see some parts of the lake, then Bohinj is true beauty, we were superlucky with the sun shining and no wind...and the one of the parts of the lake was true paradise, calm, peaceful, surrounded by mountains...complete chill and inspirations. liked it.

on the way between bohinj and bled we stopped to have lunch. place was awesome. Well, although the dead animals hanging on the walls is not my type of design, however its obvious that they hunt, so it more or less fitted in the house itself. And the view, felt like in Alps. a typical guesthouse to stop by when going to ski or traveling through mountains, the ones that also can be seen in some of those german movies, with always happy endings. and the waitress was super - spoke english that fast and good that we barely could catch up all the things we could chose to eat...and even though the choice i made and the tasty dish i got, it was not what i expected seeing word "kotlet" in menu and on my plate actually something else, that i have no name for it. well, now i at least know what is kotlet for slovenes.

and yes, the Bled castle was cool...arrived just for the sunset...as sun goes down very early this time of year in Slovenia. medieval castle with a lot of modernization was not impressive itself, but the view you catch from the castle its worth seeing. amazing.

and last but not least, another great place discovered, the SUPERTasty Bled cream cake so far, just next to Bled lake with an awesome service and great interior itself...us arriving there, the place seemed to be supercrowded, so even though it was huge, it took us short time to find a spot to sit & enjoy. was great.

a great sunday leads to great week at work,
happy,
S.
