Saturday

Bairro Alto aka friday night out.

after every hard working week its good to reward yourself. Oh well, yes, right, i am not actual employee, but a volunteer, so I do less and carry less responsibility. Nevertheless this new not employee status makes life sometimes more complicated for me, as i get lost inbetween all the small tasks given from different persons, plus with missing some information with those tasks. what seems easier not always indeed is the easiest. And I did not came to look for easiest, but to gather new experiences, and i am very happy of my EVS experiences here..anyways, about the EVS, ill tell you later more, now wanted to share of the friday happenings.
so yes, as one of my international and always traveling friends came back to Portugal, so nothing else to do than to meet up. And as for the welcome no better place to go than Bairro Alto. I have to admit that this actually been my first night out @Bairro, as till before there were other parts of Lisboa and outskirts for my parties.
As it turns out then in Bairro the most famous meeting point for international students and people is Caricaturas, however as it also turns out then not really any locals knows it. on the way i got lost couple of times in Bairro and tried to ask the way, neither one knew, not even the handsome policemen, that wanted to help me so badly. But the phone call solved much of things and I got to the meeting place with perfect portuguese lateness. And the reason of the meeting point is very simple, they have the most cheapest shots of all neighborhood. If you want to find yourself there, then its just all here
One of the most coolest and most environmentally friendly things i got to know and discover was and still is the other great bar that serves ice shots, meaning that you get your shot in ice cube of the shape of real shot glass. Very cool. Plus after drinking, you throw it in sink and it all melts and gone.
Other than drinking the night turned out to be more fun than i could imagine. Being within the network of international student organization, it gives you the chance that you join your friends and then meet bunch of other new ones, or discover that actually this part of other new are more likely old faces that you met ages ago in random different other countries. And with some times of thinking, actually the memories of where and why also were given. So yeah, a random fun and great happenings i had.
And last but not least, going out with locals sometimes can turn out to be dangerous, as they take you to the places which are awesome, however the drinks you get not always are as awesome as they seem at first... so yeah we got to try the famous spicy shot...and just after the shot i was told that i will remember it forever...well, i did remember of having it very late the next day...and yeah, keep on remembering of this unpleasant surprise of the hot/spicy shot. luckily there were lemons to kill the burning feeling... but well no more of those please. One is enough.
All in all Bairro is cool, and i am eager to discover way more nice things and places. All is needed just give a try...
