week in Amarante is full with happenings and things around us, and other than everything the biggest challenge for most of participants is the food during the training. Our dear hosts Youth house of Amarante has the "healthy" vision of life, so therefore all they serve is only a vegetarian dishes.
At first i thought that this week long challenge will be all great, as i do eat meat, however not eating meat is completely fine with me.
Till this week here, before i have tried quite some specific vegetarian dishes, however its been like one dish then long time till the next one...so real challenge on just eating this specific type of food i actually never had.

And as me being Latvian, i have to tell you that the food in Latvia stands with not much of specific flavors, nor its too spicy or too salty, therefore all the nice and delicious foreign foods that holds just a bit or more than usual amount of spices is always a challenge for me because of the tastes.
I still also tend to think that most of everything we just have is in our heads and no matter what you eat or not, for each of us there is just somethings that are difficult to overcome due to our comfort zones.
for me the first part of the week actually went very well, and i very much enjoyed the dishes and all the meals. Nevertheless of the lac of the meat, they know how to make the food diverse. All of everything regarding the dishes, i just cannot understand the usage of the fake soya meat...why, really why do u use this fake tasteless stuff of crap...if there are thousands of other things for the vegetarian world.
as in the middle of the week on our group dinner out in the city we could make the choice of either being still vegetarian or using the nice opportunity to eat meat...I went for the fish and meat...i really enjoyed, but still i cannot tell that i liked more or less, it was just different and getting to remember the usual life.
and as yesterday after the super busy and stress day i needed changes, so i also broke the chain of the vegetarian week, as couple of us we went to discover Amarantes cuisine.
If in other events there are many other reasons what unites people in a group, then this time, as it seems, is the starter aka always yellow vegetarian soup, which every day tastes differently, and more than that the conversations of how it is to eat meat or be vegetarian.
And who knows, maybe asides the learning outcomes of the training course topic, some of us will take this new life experience and convert in a new part of their future.
All in all i have to say, that it does not matter what you eat, its just all about who you are, what you do... we are very happy to be with the free will and options to choose.
greetings from extraordinary hot Amarante,
Going to enjoy my vegetarian dinner now.
