in such a small country you can find so many things that are way far from the day to day issues you are used to. for sure, now i am exploring a different culture, but still i find it strange for me.
first of all. getting a grocery it is challenging if you work late, or have meetings and only after 7pm remember that you actually have nothing to eat. most of stores close at 8, if you are smart enough to know where is the couple of them which works till 9, then you can still manage. But what happened with me two days ago, you arrive 9.00pm in front of doors and you stay left outside. hungry. but well I assume, that after some time, i will learn from the mistakes.
secondly.
living in a smaller city, means less options of choosing public transportation. here is just bus to choose, or the fresh new bike system. as bikes do not go that far, then you take bus. most of Ljubljana buses are great, have the air conditioning, but well sometimes, when its most needed you have the Murphy law and arrives centuries old bus. so in the most hottest day i managed to spend half an hour in one of them, plus waiting in the traffic jam, and instead of normal 10 min drive we went 30 min.
thirdly. I like shopping malls, they are big and you find there everything. Here when i asked around about shopping malls, i was pointed to go to BTCity. What a surprise i got when we step out of bus. you know, why the name includes City? Because it is a City. with many streets and shops like a huge block all with shops. and four big shopping malls in the same area. if you have planned only 1 and half hours of shopping, you will never find what you need, at least not all of it. checked yesterday! Impossible.
We made some pictures too..but those are still on the way somewhere :)
